Aug. 28, #FollowFriday

I thought I'd do kind of a different Follow Friday this week, inasmuch as I don't actually know the people behind any of these accounts. But there are some very funny people on Twitter and they're making me laugh out loud in 14 characters or less. The idea for this week's theme of frakkin' funny Twitterers came about when my husband showed me the first one on the list below. After sharing that account with many others, I thought I'd see what other accounts out there were laugh-out-loud funny. I got recommendations from iamwritebrained, mikafilm, TomChivers, cougarclaws, kalichan, annaliseb and Twisty58 (sorry if I missed listing anyone here).Got lots of good recommendations, but I stick to just five a week, and didn't want to make an exception just because these folks are funny. So, let's start, first with the one that started the idea for doing funny people this week:@Shitmydadsays: OK, I have no idea if this is real. The bio for the account reads: "I'm 28. I live with my 73-year-old dad. He is awesome. I just write down shit that he says". One of my favorites is this one: "The dog is an outside dog. You want an inside dog, you go get your own inside." (Aug. 4) I laugh out loud at almost every post. I don't want to know if it's real or not, because knowing would spoil the fun, I think. I prefer to think there's some 73-year-old guy who's really that curmudgeonly.@drsamueljohnson: As in the father of William Samuel Johnson, who was one of the Founding Fathers of the U.S.A. His bio: "Writer, Dictionary Compiler, Wit, Wracked by th'infernal GOUT". Though the writing is in Johnson's style, it is definitley a commentary on current events and pop culture. Such as: "Scand'lous electrick-Theatre Channel 4 abandons #BigBrother, a mere five Years after the Publick did the SAME" (Aug. 26)@HotAmishChick: She claims in her bio that she'll "show ankle for five minutes of wireless," but I don't know if she's being honest. For some reason, this was my favorite of her tweets: "Dear Lord, Thank you for cheese. Amen." (Aug. 14)@DarthVader: Yes, the Dark Lord of the Sith, Annakin Skywalker himself. He does a little bit of conversing with his followers, but also offers commentary on events in his universe. Witness: "Tarkin did the galaxy a favor with that whole Alderaan thing. Planet was a haven for hippies & tree-hugging do-gooders." (Aug. 18)@HOBODARKSEID: For those who don't follow the D.C. Comics Universe, Darkseid is a super-villain. That is about all I know about him. We bought my son a six-pack of D.C. Comics action figures and Darkseid was the main super-villain. I think Superman was the main super hero. My favorite tweets so far are a two-fer:"STEP ONE: ANNEX ADJACENT DUMPSTER, THUS EXTENDING DARKSEID'S EMPIRE FROM DUMPSTER 1 TO DUMPSTER 2 BEHIND BABY GAP. REVEL IN LAMENTATIONS.""STEP TWO: PANERA."(Aug. 25) I'm not exactly sure what that all means, but it's pretty funny. That's it for this week. As usual, if you have any recommendations of your own, please mention them in the comments below.
